§ 1.22.010. In general.

Unless otherwise indicated, it shall be an infraction for any person to do any act forbidden or fail to perform any act required by the code sections set forth below:

Uniform Fire Code Sections 85.106(a), 105, 105.8, 1001.4, 1001.5, 1103, 1002, 1006.2.8, 1112.

Police officers, code enforcement officers, fire inspectors, and city business license inspectors, senior public works inspector are vested with the authority to arrest any person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter.

§ 1.22.030. Penalties for infractions.

Pursuant to Government Code Section 36900, the penalty by fine for infractions shall be as follows:

Every violation determined to be an infraction is punishable by:

A. A fine of one hundred dollars for a first violation;

B. A fine of two hundred dollars for a second violation of the same ordinance within one year;

C. A fine of five hundred dollars for each additional violation of the same ordinance within one year.

§ 1.22.040. City attorney discretion to charge as misdemeanors.

Notwithstanding the provisions of this chapter, the city attorney shall have the discretion to charge any violation of the provisions set forth in Section 1.22.010 as a misdemeanor.

§ 1.22.050. Separate offenses.

If any violation of this chapter continues, it shall be regarded as a new and separate offense. The remedies provided in this chapter shall be cumulative and not exclusive.
