9.70.010 - Registration of alarms.¶
All users of residential and business alarms shall register their alarm with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Any alarm user who does not register their alarm or keep an updated emergency contact list with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department shall be charged $50.00.

9.70.020 - Police response to false alarms.¶
Users of residential and business alarms will be subject to a $50.00 police response fee commencing with the fourth false alarm within any 12-month period. For purposes of this section, a false alarm is defined as the activation of an alarm when a crime has not been committed or a police response is not warranted. False alarms may be caused by system malfunctions or operator error. Alarm users who are charged with a police response to a false alarm may apply for a hearing with the Chief of Police or his/her designee. The Chief of Police or his/her designee may waive the police response fee for unusual or extraordinary circumstances.
