8.52.010 - Defined.¶
For the purpose of this Chapter, "garbage" means and includes decayed, unsound, waste or discarded food, meat, fish, fruit, bakery goods and vegetables, animal and vegetable refuse from food-handling places or residences, or any putrid or offensive animal or vegetable matter.

8.52.020 - Feed for animals.¶
Garbage shall not be used for feed for hogs, chickens or other animals or poultry other than upon the premises where the garbage is produced, unless the person, firm or corporation so using the garbage complies with each and every requirement contained in this Chapter.

8.52.030 - Transportation.¶
All garbage transported under this Chapter must be in a watertight metal tank or container, with a close-fitting cover in place, so as to prevent liquids or garbage contained therein from leaking, spilling, falling or escaping therefrom. Railroads and other common carriers are subject to and must meet this transportation requirement.

8.52.040 - Truck and tank maintenance.¶
Each wagon, car, truck, cart or other vehicle and each tank or other container used for the collection or transportation of garbage shall be thoroughly washed, scrubbed, cleaned and disinfected, both on the inside and the outside thereof, at least once daily when in use, and shall be kept free from all garbage on the outside thereof when used in the collection or transportation of garbage.

8.52.050 - Disposal.¶
All unused garbage, refuse garbage and hog manure must be handled in such manner as to prevent the creation of a nuisance. Unused garbage, refuse garbage and hog manure, if spread upon the surface of the ground, shall be promptly plowed underground or covered with equal successive layers of soil. Deep burial with top surface of all such refuse covered daily with soil will be permitted. Accumulations of piles of unused garbage, refuse garbage or hog manure will not be permitted, except in the formation of compost or fertilizer and in such cases the drainage of such piles must be controlled in a sanitary manner.

8.52.060 - Storage.¶
All garbage on any premises shall be kept in a watertight container with a tight-fitting lid.

8.52.070 - Incineration or burning.¶
The incineration or burning of garbage is prohibited.
