3.20.010 - Procedure—Established.¶
The ordinance codified in this chapter is adopted to establish a procedure whereby unclaimed property can be disposed of by the police department of the city.

3.20.020 - Procedure—Designated.¶
A. Unclaimed property except unclaimed bicycles shall be held by the police department for a period of at least four months, and unclaimed bicycles shall be held for a period of at least three months; thereafter, such property will be sold at public auction to the highest bidder, with notice of said sale being given by the chief of police at least five days before the time fixed therefor by publication once in a newspaper of general circulation published in the county.
B. Unclaimed bicycles, after being held for a period of at least three months may, instead of being sold at public auction to the highest bidder pursuant to the provisions of subsection A of this section, be turned over to any charitable or nonprofit organization which is authorized under its articles of incorporation to participate in a program or activity designed to prevent juvenile delinquency and which is exempt from income taxation under federal or state law or both, for use in any program or activity designed to prevent juvenile delinquency.
