§ 10.12.010 ESTABLISHED.¶
(A) By resolution, the Town Council, upon recommendation of the town’s Traffic Engineer, may establish tow-away zones in the town wherein it shall be unlawful to park, or permit to be parked, any motor vehicle during hours specified in the resolution.
(B) For the purpose of this chapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
TOW-AWAY ZONE. Any area of town street in Fairfax designated by appropriate signs wherein parking of vehicles is prohibited by resolution of the Town Council at specified times and permitted at other times.

§ 10.12.020 SIGNS.¶
The town’s Traffic Engineer shall cause to be erected at the beginning of each tow-away zone, and at intervals of 100 feet therein, appropriate signs on each of which shall be specified the times during which parking of vehicles is prohibited and which give notice of removal during prohibited periods.

§ 10.12.030 REMOVAL OF VEHICLES.¶
Any police officer of the town may remove or cause to be removed any vehicle parking in a tow-away zone during prohibited hours.

§ 10.12.040 NOTICE TO OWNER.¶
Within six hours after removing any vehicle from a tow-away zone, the police officer causing the removal shall, unless the vehicle is sooner claimed, give written notice to the registered owner, at the address shown on the certificate of registration, of the location of the vehicle, wherefrom the owner may take possession of the vehicle on payment of all costs and charges for removal and storage.

§ 10.12.050 LIEN.¶
The person who removes the automobile and stores the same for the owner shall have a lien on the vehicle for the charges for the removal and storage and shall not be required to deliver up the vehicle without payment thereof.
