Sec. 10.08.010. - Stop intersections.

It is unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle upon any County highway without bringing the vehicle to a full stop behind a stop sign erected and maintained by the County Road Department as required by Vehicle Code § 21400 at points as established by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.

Sec. 10.08.020. - Speed restrictions—Highways.

It is unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle upon any County highway beyond the speed limit as established by the Board of Supervisors by resolution on specified portions of the highways which are posted as required by law.

Sec. 10.08.030. - Same—Campgrounds.

When posted, it is unlawful for any person to operate any motor vehicle in excess of the following listed speeds within the confines of any campground:

A. Main access road through campgrounds, 20 miles per hour;

B. Campsite access roads off main roads, ten miles per hour.

Sec. 10.08.040. - One-way traffic.

It is unlawful for any person to drive any vehicle upon any portion of any County highway except in the direction posted as specified by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.

Sec. 10.08.050. - Crosswalks.

Pedestrian crosswalks are established and shall be posted and maintained by the County Road Department at locations as established by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.

Sec. 10.08.060. - Through highways.

All highways as established by resolution of the Board of Supervisors as through highways, pursuant to Vehicle Code § 21101(b), shall be posted with official traffic control devices. All vehicles are required to stop before entering or crossing them.

Sec. 10.08.070. - Yield intersections.

It is unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle upon any County highway without being prepared to yield the right-of-way to all other traffic at a yield sign erected and maintained by the County Road Department as required by Vehicle Code § 21400 at all points established by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.

Sec. 10.08.080. - Bicycle lanes established.

Pursuant to Vehicle Code § 21207, bicycle lanes separated from any vehicular lanes upon highways may be established within the unincorporated portions of the County by resolution of the Board of Supervisors. Such lanes shall be constructed in compliance with State law.

Sec. 10.08.090. - Tire traction control devices.

A. Tire traction devices required. In accordance with California Vehicle Code §§ 27459 and 27460, no person shall operate any motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer upon any portion of a County highway or road without tire traction devices (as defined by State law) when that portion of the highway or road is signed for the requirement of tire traction devices.

B. Signage. The Director of Transportation or designee shall have the authority to place signs setting forth said requirements.

C. Penalties. Violations of this section constitute an infraction punishable by a fine as set forth in California Vehicle Code, § 42001.
