13.20.080 - Direction to chlorinate or disinfect.

Every person, firm or corporation which either owns or operates in whole or in part a water supply system shall, at the direction of the city health officer, cause to be cleansed and chlorinated or chemically disinfected any reservoir, tank, well, spring or pipe from which water is dispensed either for domestic use or human consumption.

13.20.090 - Dosage for chemical disinfection.

When the purity of water in a water supply system is maintained by means of chemical disinfection, the dosage or rates of application shall at all times be sufficient to provide adequately disinfected water at all points of the distribution system. The city health officer may order continuous automatic disinfection for any water supply, when, in his opinion, such treatment is necessary for the protection of the public health.

13.20.100 - Dosage for chlorination.

When the purity of a water supply system is maintained by means of continuous chlorination, the chlorine shall be added in sufficient quantity to insure the bacteriological safety of the water at all points in the distribution system. A free chlorine residual shall be maintained at all times at chlorine control sampling points approved by the city health officer.
