Dunsmuir Municipal Code Ch. 5.32 Taxicabs

No person shall operate, as driver thereof, any taxicab within the city until he shall first register with the police department on a form to be provided by the city, giving his name, residence and business address, the name of the prospective employer, if any, or whether self-employed, his age, physical description and fingerprints, state Class 3 driver's license number, and suitable, recent photograph of the registrant.

Every person registering as a taxicab driver pursuant to this chapter shall complete and sign an application for the issuance of a taxicab driver's permit. Thereafter, annually, each such driver wishing to continue to hold the permit shall apply at the city clerk's office for renewal of the permit. The fee for the issuance of the permit shall be five dollars ($5.00). The fee for each renewal shall also be five dollars ($5.00).

Every taxicab driver's permit issued in accordance with this chapter shall at all times be displayed in any taxi operated by the permittee in a place in such taxi readily visible to all passengers therein.

Violations of the provisions of this chapter shall be infractions, punishable as set forth in this code.
