15.20.010 - Dangerous buildings abatement code adopted.¶

The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings published by the International Conference of Building Officials, 1991 Edition, is adopted as the code for the abatement of dangerous buildings for the city. For future revisions, the most recent edition of the code referred to in this section shall be effective on the first day of January following the date of publication. The city council may by resolution adopt a specific edition of said code, or modify or amend the current edition to accommodate local conditions.

15.20.020 - Vacant buildings to be made secure against unlawful entry.¶

Any vacant building shall be made secure against any unlawful entry. If such building is not made secure it shall be declared a public nuisance.

15.20.030 - Uniform Fire Code, building code and building permit regulations unaffected by chapter.¶

A. The provisions of this chapter shall not be deemed to repeal by implication any provision of the Uniform Fire Code of the city, the building code of the city or any other law or ordinance of the city, and the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter shall not be deemed to affect or diminish thepower or authority of any officer or employee of the city to condemn any building or structure erected or maintained in violation of any provision of the Uniform Fire Code of the city, the building code of the city or any other law or ordinance of the city.

B. The provisions of this chapter shall not relieve the owner of the requirements of the building code, Section 15.08.010 of this code, regarding a building permit for the repair or demolition of a building.
