Discharge of firearms prohibited. Exceptions-Permit issuance. Violation-Penalty. Discharge of firearms prohibited. A. Every person who, except in reason- able defense of person or property, or with a permit therefor issued by the city council, shall discharge any firearm, as the term is defined in the California Penal Code, within the city is guilty of an infraction. B. Every person who shall maliciously or wilfully discharge any B.B. gun, air rifle, spring-loaded gun, sling shot, or any device that will hurl any projectile that may cause injury to any person or may cause any prop- erty damage within the city is guilty of an infraction. 9.12.020 Exceptions-Permit issuance.

On such terms and conditions as it may specify, the city council may issue permits for the discharge of firearms for public events or for other occasions where the same would serve the public interest and would not en- danger the residents of the city. (Ord. 178 § 1(3), 1991)

9.12.030 Violation-Penalty.

Violation of this chapter is punishable as provided in California Government Code 109 -----~- Section 36900, or successor statute as may be hereafteradopted.(Ord. 178 § 1(4), 1991)
