§ 6.68.010. Required when.

Any animal which bites a person shall be quarantined as required by the state law.

§ 6.68.020. Suspected rabid animal – Killing prohibited pending diagnosis.

No animal control officer, police officer or other person shall kill, or cause to be killed, except in self-defense or defense of another person, any animal suspected of being rabid except after the animal has been placed in quarantine and the diagnosis of rabies made by a licensed veterinarian. If a veterinarian diagnoses rabies in an animal in quarantine, then the animal shall be humanely killed by a veterinarian or the contracting pounding facility.
