13.40.010 - Existing private system.

Where a public sewer main is not available under the provisions of this article and the private sewage disposal system exists as of the effective date of the ordinance codified in this article, such system may continue to be maintained and operated until such time as a public sewer becomes available.

13.40.020 - Connection to public system when available.

At such time as a public sewer becomes available to the property served by a private sewage disposal system, a direct connection shall be made to the public sewer in compliance with this article and any cesspools, septic tanks or similar private sewage disposal facilities shall be abandoned, cleaned of sludge and filled with suitable material, immediately or within sixty days.

13.40.030 - Sanitation.

Those persons shall operate and maintain the private sewage disposal facilities in a sanitary manner at all times, at no expense to the city.

13.40.040 - Interference with other laws.

No statement contained in this chapter shall be construed to interfere with any regulations or requirements that may be imposed by the county, state or federal government.
