8.34.010 - Definitions.¶
The following words, terms and phrases when used in this chapter have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
"City" means the city of Daly City, California.
"Handbill" means and includes any printed or written advertising matter, any sample or device, dodger, circular, leaflet, pamphlet, newspaper, paper, booklet or any other printed matter or literature.
"Person" means and includes any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company or organization of any kind.

8.34.020 - Distributing on public property.¶
It is unlawful for any person to distribute any handbill by the use of rocks, pebbles or other weighty matter by throwing the same in or on any public thoroughfare, park, ground or other public place within the city.

8.34.030 - Distributing on private property.¶
It is unlawful for any person to distribute any handbill by the use of rocks, pebbles or other weighty matter by throwing the same in or upon any private yard, grounds, walk, porch, steps, vestibule, house, residence, building or any other private property.

8.34.040 - Public nuisance.¶
The violation of any provision of this chapter is deemed a public nuisance. In the event the city seeks injunctive relief to enforce this chapter, it shall be entitled to reasonable attorney's fees.

8.34.050 - Violation—Penalty.¶
Any person who violates any provision of this chapter is guilty of an infraction and upon conviction thereof shall be punished as follows:
A. A fine not exceeding one hundred dollars for a first violation;
B. A fine not exceeding two hundred dollars for a second violation within one year;
C. A fine not exceeding five hundred dollars for each additional violation of this chapter within one year.
