Daly City Municipal Code Ch. 13.08 Water Rates

All water sold shall be metered and sold in accordance with rates adopted by resolution of the city council, after hearing. A copy of said resolution shall be on file in the office of the city clerk and with the department of finance of the city.

All out-of-city customers shall have their water rate increased by adding one hundred percent to both the water rate and the minimum billing as established by the city council by resolution, after hearing. A copy of said resolution shall be on file in the office of the city clerk and with the department of finance of the city for further particulars.

All governmental agencies shall have their water rate reduced by subtracting twenty percent from both the water rate and the minimum billing as established by the city council by resolution, after hearing. A copy of said resolution shall be on file in the office of the city clerk and the department of finance of the city for further particulars.

Where there is a connection to the city's water system used solely for fire protection service, the water user shall be charged pursuant to resolution set by the city council.

All accounts shall be due and payable thirty days after mailing of the statement to each customer. Upon failure to pay said account within the aforementioned thirty-day period, the director of finance shall be authorized to do any one or more of the following:

A. Disconnect water service to any water customer and/or apply late payment charges and/or penalties in amounts as set by resolution of the city council.

B. Declare said account to be delinquent, which delinquent account shall earn interest at the rate as set by resolution of the city council.

In the event that a check which has been received in payment of an account is returned by any bank, in addition to any of the foregoing, the director of finance shall be authorized to provide for a charge set by resolution of the city council, on each returned check.

The water installation fees shall be as adopted by resolution of the city council, after hearing. A copy of said resolution shall be kept on file in the office of the city clerk and the finance department of the city for further particulars.

No charge shall be made for turning on water service for new accounts between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays). A charge, as set by resolution of the city council shall be made for turning on water service for new accounts between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.
