Chapter 3.04 — TRANSFER OF TAX FUNCTIONS

3.04.010 - Definitions.¶
The following words and expressions when used in this chapter shall for the purpose of this chapter have the meanings respectively ascribed to them as follows:
(a)
Town. The word "town" means the town of Corte Madera, a municipal corporation, situated in the county of Marin, state of California.
(b)
County. The word "county" means the county of Marin, a political subdivision of the state of California.

3.04.020 - Town assessor and town tax collector—Transfer of duties—Abolition of offices.¶
The town shall take steps immediately to enter into a contract with the county whereby the assessment duties presently performed by the town tax collector shall be transferred to the county tax collector. Immediately after the execution of such contract by the county and town and the transfer of said duties thereunder, all duties of the town assessor and the town tax collector not transferred by said contract shall be transferred to, and shall be performed by, the town clerk, and the offices of town assessor and town tax collector shall thereupon cease to exist.

3.04.030 - Filing of certified copy.¶
Immediately after the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, the town clerk shall cause a certified copy of the ordinance codified in this chapter to be filed with the county auditor.
