2.38.010 Establishment.

There is established a Historic Preservation Board for the City of Corona.

2.38.020 Members - Composition and qualifications.

(A) The Historic Preservation Board shall consist of five members selected and appointed by the City Council members pursuant to state and local law.

(B) Board members shall be residents of the city at the time of their appointment, and continuously during their incumbency.

(C) Board members shall demonstrate competence, interest, or knowledge of historic preservation.

2.38.030 Terms of office.

(A) Board members shall be appointed for a term of four years.

(B) The term of office for each Board member is subject to the provisions of Chapter 2.35.

(C) The City Council may, by majority vote, remove any Board member at any time without cause.

2.38.040 Organization.

(A) The Board shall hold at least one meeting annually.

(B) The Board shall appoint the Chair from among its members annually and appoint a Vice-Chair to preside in the absence of the Chair.

(C) The Board may adopt all necessary by-laws, rules and regulations for the conduct of its meetings.

(D) If the Board is not able to maintain a quorum after the scheduling of two consecutive meetings to perform the duties set forth in this chapter, the duties shall be performed by the Planning and Housing Commission established pursuant to Chapter 2.37.

2.38.050 Stipend.

Each member of the Board shall receive $50 for each regular meeting attended, not to exceed $100 per month.

2.38.060 Duties.

The Board shall have the following powers and duties:

(A) To perform the duties and functions prescribed in Chapter 17.63.

(B) To perform any other powers and duties prescribed by the City Council that are not inconsistent with any state or local law.
