2.38.010 - Authorization and procedure.

Duplicate and obsolete records of the city shall be destroyed by a means which will not allow them to be readily restored or reconstituted, and under the following procedure:

A. In accordance with §§ 34090, 34090.5, 34090.7 and 53921 California Government Code and other applicable law;

B. After application for their destruction has been approved by the city attorney or his duly authorized representative;

C. Upon approval by resolution of the city council after the aforesaid approval by the city attorney or his authorized representative has been granted.
