§ 9.62.010. Finding that graffiti or other inscribed material is obnoxious.

The Cerritos city council finds that graffiti or other inscribed material is obnoxious, be it on public or private property.

§ 9.62.020. Graffiti removal – Consent of property owner – Removal by director of…

Notwithstanding any other provisions of this code to the contrary, whenever the director of public works determines that graffiti or other inscribed material is obnoxious and is so located on public or private property as to be capable of being viewed by a person utilizing any public right-of-way in this city, be this road, parkway, alley or otherwise, and the owner of the property consents to the removal by the city of the graffiti or other inscribed material and executes such document as the city may provide relative to the removal of the graffiti or other inscribed material, then the director of public works is authorized to provide for removal of the graffiti or other inscribed material. If the director of public works provides for the removal of the graffiti or other inscribed material, he shall not authorize nor undertake to provide for the painting or repair of any more extensive area than that where the graffiti or other inscribed material is located.
