3.45.010 - Levy of tax.

The county of Santa Barbara Tax Collector shall levy on each parcel of property (as set forth in Section 3.45.020) located within the city of Carpinteria a special tax in the annual amount of thirty-six dollars and three cents. The tax shall be added by the Tax collector to the parcel's real property tax bill, and the tax collector shall take any and all action necessary to collect said tax.

3.45.020 - Levy on property designated for residential use.

The tax shall be levied by the tax collector only on those properties designated by the assessor's use code as "residential."

3.45.030 - Use of tax revenue.

The tax, when collected, shall be used only for purposes of maintaining and improving the city's public parks, including the repair and replacement of playground and other equipment, water, maintenance contracts, and associated administrative costs.

3.45.040 - Payment prior to litigation.

Payment of all taxes, assessments, and interest shall be required as a condition precedent to seeking judicial review of the validity or application of any such taxes, assessments, or interest imposed by the city pursuant to this Chapter 3.45.
