9.16.010 - Authority.

This chapter is enacted pursuant to California Civil Code Section 2080.4.

9.16.020 - Custody of the sheriff.

Unclaimed property in the custody of the sheriff shall be held by the sheriff for a period of three months.

9.16.030 - Transfer to purchasing agent.

Upon the expiration of three months the sheriff shall transfer such property to the county purchasing agent.

9.16.040 - Sale of property.

The purchasing agent may sell such property as surplus property in the manner provided in Chapter 3.28 of this code.

9.16.060 - Use by county.

If the purchasing agent determines that such property transferred to the agent is needed for public use, the property may be retained by the county for use in any department.
