8.04.010 - Quarantine or disinfecting authorized.¶
A. The county health officer, and every special health officer of the county, are authorized and empowered to quarantine any person or persons afflicted, or whom they have reasonable cause to believe afflicted, with a contagious or infectious disease, for such length of time as they deem advisable for the protection of the public health.
B. The county health officer, and any special health office of the county, are also authorized and empowered to quarantine or cause to be quarantined any and all persons who have been exposed, or whom they have reasonable grounds to believe to have been exposed, to a contagious or infectious disease.
C. The quarantine shall continue for such time as such officer shall deem advisable for the protection of the public health.
D. The county health officer, or other special health officer, is further authorized and empowered to remove any person or persons afflicted with a contagious or infectious disease to such place or places, quarter or quarters as he may deem necessary in order to protect the public health.
E. Such officer is further authorized and empowered to cause to be disinfected any and all buildings and things, of whatsoever kind, which in his judgment may require disinfection.
F. It is the duty of every owner or lessee of any building or thing, required to be disinfected by such health officer, to disinfect such building or thing forthwith in accordance with the instructions and direction of the health officer.

8.04.020 - Employment of guards and procurement of supplies.¶
The county health officer, or any special health officer, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this chapter, may employ such guards and procure such supplies as may in his judgment be required in order to make the quarantine authorized by Section 8.04.010 effective, and to preserve the public health. The reasonable expenses of such guards and supplies shall be a county charge; provided, however, that the board of supervisors of the county may reject, in whole or in part, any claim or bill for such guards or supplies, which in the judgment of the board may be unreasonable or unnecessary.

8.04.030 - District attorney required to perform legal services.¶
The district attorney of the county is directed to draw all notices and to perform all legal services required by any constable, or by the county health officer, or by any special health officer, in carrying out the provisions of this chapter, and he is authorized to enter suit in the name of the county against any and all persons for expenses incurred by any constable in carrying out the provisions of this chapter.

8.04.040 - Duty of physician to report.¶
A. It is the duty of every physician and surgeon of the county to immediately notify and report to the county health officer the name and residence of any person, afflicted with a contagious or infectious disease, that he may be called upon to prescribe for or attend.
B. Every physician or surgeon failing to comply with the provision of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.

8.04.050 - Penalty for violation.¶
Any person or persons violating any of the provisions of this chapter or any of the orders of the county health officer, or of any special health officer, or any quarantine order or regulation ordered by the county health officer, is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than three months, or by a fine of not less than ten dollars and not more than one hundred dollars, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
