Sec. 4.01.1200. - Basic speed limit.

No person shall drive a vehicle on any street or road at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for the traffic on the surface and width of the street or roadway and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property or which is in excess of the maximum speed limit set forth in Section 4.01.1210.

Sec. 4.01.1210. - Twenty-five-mile-per-hour zone; exception.

(a) Generally. No person shall operate any vehicle on any street or road in the City at a speed in excess of 25 miles per hour.

(b) Exception. No person shall operate any vehicle on Woodlyn Lane at a speed in excess of 15 miles per hour.

Sec. 4.01.1220. - Exceeding speed limit not negligence as matter of law.

In any civil action, proof of speed in excess of the limit provided in Section 4.01.1210 shall not establish negligence as a matter of law, but in all such actions it shall be necessary to establish as a fact that the operation of a vehicle at such excess speed constituted negligence.
