3.40.010 - Applicability.¶
In such cases where code enforcement is required to visit a site or contact an owner or business operator on more than two occasions to obtain compliance with any code, ordinance or law, the city may recover its costs of enforcement commencing with third contact or inspection.

3.40.020 - Method of recovery.¶
The costs of enforcement provided above may be enforced by either civil action upon the sum or as a condition of probation upon conviction of any criminal act in violation of any code, ordinance, or law.

3.40.030 - Charges of inspection.¶
The charges for inspection and enforcement services after the second contact, regarding any violation, shall be not less than twenty-five dollars, nor more than the number of hours spent by the planner, fire marshal, building inspector, or code enforcement officer times the base hourly compensation of such person (not including benefits) plus a fifteen percent override thereon for administration. In the event that more than one of city personnel shall be required to make compliance contact on any one day, the charges shall be limited to the highest paid employee present and shall specifically exclude the compensation of city manager, city attorney, community development director, public works director, fire chief, or any deputy sheriff or city police officer.

3.40.040 - Restriction on issuance of certificates of compliance.¶
If compliance with codes, ordinances, or laws, and proof thereof, is made a condition of probation upon conviction of any violation hereunder, such certificate shall not issue until the city shall be paid a fee of twenty-five dollars for inspection for compliance or such fee shall be waived by the city manager or city attorney.
