2-5-401: PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM:¶
A contract is authorized between the city and the board of administration, California public employees' retirement system, a copy of which, as amended, shall be on file in the office of the city clerk and is made a part of this article as though set forth herein in full. Such contract shall provide for the participation of the city in the public employees' retirement system and shall make city employees members of such system with all rights and benefits conferred by the public employees' retirement law, including benefits for prior service. (1962 Code § 2-6.301)
2-5-402: EMPLOYEE MEMBERSHIP MANDATORY:¶
Membership in the public employees' retirement system shall be compulsory for each city employee commencing the first of the month following the date of their initial employment, except where the duration of employment is known to be less than thirty (30) days. (1962 Code § 2-6.122)
2-5-403: CONTINUATION OF RETIREMENT SYSTEM:¶
Authority and power are vested in the officers, agents, and employees of the city to do and perform any act and to exercise any authority granted, permitted, or required under the provisions of the public employees' retirement system. The council may terminate any contract with the board of administration of the public employees' retirement system only under authority granted by the provisions of state law. (1962 Code § 2-6.122)
