6.16.010 Cemetery defined.

"Cemetery," for purposes of Section 6.16.020, is defined as a place used and intended to be used for the permanent interment of the human dead. It may be either a burial park for earth interment, a mausoleum for vault or crypt interment, a crematory, a columbarium, or a crematory and columbarium for cinerary interment, or a combination of one or more thereof. 6.16.020 Burials and maintenance of cemeteries prohibited--Exception.

It is unlawful for any person, association or corporation to bury, inter, or cause to be interred, the dead body of any person in any place in the City, or to maintain a cemetery or graveyard within the limits of the City, except that columbaria are allowed as permitted in Title 23 of this code. 6.16.030 Violation--Penalty.

Any person, association or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable as set forth in Chapter 1.20 of this code. (Ord. 98-NS § 2, 1910)
