Sec. 1.1-1. - General municipal elections—Conducted when.¶
Pursuant to Elections Code, sections 1301 and 10403.5, the city council fixes the day of the statewide direct primary election, as the date of the general municipal election within the city. The municipal election thereafter shall be conducted on the date of the statewide primary election, unless the ordinance codified in this chapter is later repealed by the city council.

Sec. 1.1-2. - City officers—Expiration of terms.¶
Pursuant to Section 1301 and 10403.5 of the California Elections Code, those presently elected city officers whose four-year term would otherwise have expired in June of 2022 or June of 2024, shall instead be extended and expire the third Tuesday in July, following the certification of election results and administration of oaths of office to newly elected city officers.

Sec. 1.1-3. - Notice to voters.¶
The city clerk shall, pursuant to section 10403.5(e), submit the ordinance codified in this chapter for approval to the county board of supervisors and further shall, within thirty days after the ordinance becomes operative, upon approval by the county board of supervisors, shall cause a notice to be mailed to all registered voters informing the voters that as a result of the change in the election date, elected city officeholders' terms in office will be changed.
