18.52.010 Purpose. ¶
The purpose of the INS institutional zone is to identify and set aside lands that are appropriate and necessary for public agencies and public utilities to maintain public facilities and services and to insure such facilities are controlled to insure protection of public health, safety and welfare. (Ord. 453 § 15.01, 1985)
18.52.020 Permitted uses. ¶
Permitted uses in the INS zone are as follows:
A. Quasi-public uses as defined in Section 18.08.640 of this title;
B. Public uses and structures as planned and developed by federal, state, or local agencies or public or private organizations or utility companies on lands owned or controlled by the agency or company such as corporation yards; storage yards; sewage treatment, storage or disposal facilities; administrative centers; schools; fire stations, police stations and uses which the county determines to be similar. (Ord. 453 § 15.02, 1985)
18.52.030 Conditional uses. ¶
Conditional uses for which use permits are required in the INS zone are as follows:
A. Uses and structures which do not directly relate to the primary purposes of the agency or utility, including residential, commercial and industrial uses, which may be made available to the general public and may require public access and/or other public services;
B. Public airports or similar launching or landing facilities. (Ord. 453 § 15.03, 1985)
18.52.040 Area, lot width and yard requirements. ¶
Minimum requirements in the INS zone are as follows:
A. Minimum parcel/lot size: as specified by the General Plan land use designation shown for the lands involved;
B. Front yard: thirty feet;
C. Side yard: twenty feet;
D. Rear yard: twenty feet. (Ord. 453 § 15.05, 1985)
18.52.050 Height regulations. ¶
The maximum height for structures other than power transmission lines is fifty feet, except when abutting an R zone in which case the provisions of Section 18.68.050 of this title shall apply. (Ord. 453 § 15.04, 1985)
18.52.060 Other required conditions. ¶
Off-street parking and other requirements are set forth in Chapter 18.68 of this title. (Ord. 453 § 15.06, 1985)
