§ 6-8 SERVICE PROVISIONS

§ 6-8.1. Services To Be Provided. [Ord. 89-07]

The Grantee shall provide, as a minimum, the initial services listed in the Franchise Agreement. Services shall not be reduced without thirty (30) days prior notification to Grantor and to all subscribers.

§ 6-8.2. Basic Cable Service. [Ord. 89-07]

The "Basic Cable Service" shall include any service tier which includes the retransmission of local television signals. This service shall be provided to all subscribers at the established monthly subscription rates.

§ 6-8.3. Local Origination Channel(s). [Ord. 89-07]

If local origination programming is provided, the Grantee shall operate any cablecasting studios on a highquality, professional basis for the purpose of providing cablecast programming responsive to local needs and interests.

§ 6-8.4. Cable Channels for Commercial Use. [Ord. 89-07]

The Grantee shall designate channel capacity for commercial use as required by applicable law.

§ 6-8.5. Universal Connection. [Ord. 89-07]

In order to provide a service related to the public health, safety or welfare, the Grantor may require that all dwelling units within the franchise area shall be connected physically to the cable system by the Grantee by means of drop cables terminating at each dwelling unit, whether or not the dwelling unit's occupants desire to subscribe to cable service. The cost and charges shall be determined by the Grantor at the time such connection is required. Grantee shall be entitled to recover in advance the cost of providing a universal connection.
