2-45.1 - Office Created; Compensation.

There is hereby created the Office of the Fire Marshal, which office shall be held, and the duties thereof performed by, the Chief of the Fire Department, who shall be ex officio Fire Marshal, but who shall receive no compensation therefor other than his/her salary as Chief of the Fire Department.

2-45.2 - Deputy Fire Marshal.

The Fire Marshal shall have the power to appoint deputies, who shall receive no compensation or allowance of any kind from the City, and who may act in the place and stead of the Fire Marshal, subject to compensation or allowance or any kind from the City, and who may act in the place and stead of the Fire Marshal, subject to removal by the Fire Marshal.

2-45.3 - Duty of Fire Marshal.

It shall be the duty of the Fire Marshal, by himself/herself or deputies, to attend to the enforcement of the provisions of this Code and all other ordinances and laws pertaining to the protection of the City from fire.

2-45.4 - Right to Enter Upon Premises.

The Fire Marshal, or his/her deputies, shall have the right to enter upon any premises at all reasonable hours for the purpose of inspecting the same.
