5.32.010 - Veterinarian.

Any person promoting, conducting, or holding a rodeo or rodeo-like animal event in the unincorporated area of Alameda County shall have a veterinarian in attendance (physically present) throughout the duration of every event using animals.

5.32.020 - Qualifications.

The veterinarian in attendance shall be licensed by the state and shall be experienced in the treatment of the types of animals used in the animal events.

5.32.030 - Noncontestant.

The veterinarian in attendance shall not be a contestant or otherwise participate in any animal events.

5.32.040 - Notification.

The animal control office of the Alameda County sheriff's department and the Oakland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Alameda County shall be notified not less than fourteen (14) days in advance of the rodeo or rodeo-like animal event, and with such notification a written description of the animal events, a copy of the rules governing the events, and the veterinarian(s) name, address, state certification number, and dates of attendance shall be submitted.

5.32.050 - Access.

The veterinarian and any animal control officer or humane officer in attendance shall be allowed access to all areas of the rodeo facility.

5.32.060 - Misdemeanor.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
