4400. - Sale of knives to minors prohibited.

No person shall sell to any minor any dirk or dagger, or any knife with a blade three (3) inches or more in length, or any snap-blade or spring-blade knife, regardless of the length of the blade, unless such minor is accompanied by an adult person and unless the person selling such weapon keeps a full and complete record of the purchaser's name and address.

4401. - Reserved.

4402. - Carrying knives and daggers in plain view prohibited.

(a) No person shall carry in plain view on his or her person any knife having a blade of three (3) or more inches in length; any spring-blade, switch-blade or snap-blade knife; any knife whose blade is automatically released by a spring mechanism or other mechanical device; any ice pick or similar sharp stabbing tool; any straight-edge razor; or any razor blade fitted to a handle.

(b) The foregoing restrictions shall not be deemed to prohibit the carrying of ordinary tools or equipment for use in a lawful occupation or for the purpose of lawful recreation.

4403. - Carrying certain objects prohibited at picket lines and other public assemblies.

(a) No person who participates in any demonstration, rally, picket line or other such public assembly shall carry or possess any length of lumber, wood, wood lath or other wood product, unless the outer dimensions of such object do not exceed a thickness of one-fourth inch and a width of two (2) inches or, if the object is not generally rectangular in shape, its thickest dimension does not exceed a thickness of three-quarters inch. Any such object shall be blunt and unsharpened at its ends and along its edges.

(b) No person who participates in any demonstration, rally, picket line or other such public assembly shall carry or possess any bar, shaft, rod, cable, wire or other such length or hard metal, hard plastic or other hard, synthetic material.

4404. - Discharging firearms; restrictions generally.

No person shall shoot, fire or discharge, nor cause nor permit to be shot, fired or discharged, any rifle, shotgun, pistol, revolver or other firearm in the general direction and within one-half mile of any house, camp, or other place of human habitation, or in the general direction and within one-half mile of any public highway, road, street, way, park, or premises.

4405. - Shooting arrows or other missiles; restrictions.

No person shall shoot, fire or discharge, nor cause nor permit to be shot, fired or discharged, any arrow or other missile in the general direction and within four hundred (400) yards of any house, camp, or other place of human habitation or any public highway, road, street, way, park, or premises.

4406. - Broadhead arrows—Furnishing to minors under thirteen.

No person shall sell, give away or in any way furnish to any minor who is under the age of thirteen (13) years any broadhead arrow.

4407. - Same—Furnishing to minor under fifteen (15) restricted.

No person shall sell, give away, or in any way furnish to any minor who is thirteen (13) years of age or over and under fifteen (15) years of age any broadhead arrow, unless such person first obtains the written consent thereto of his or her parents or legal guardian.

4408. - Same—Use by minors under thirteen prohibited.

No minor under the age of thirteen (13) years shall shoot or otherwise use any broadhead arrow.

4409. - Same—Dealers to post regulations.

Every person who sells or otherwise deals in broadhead arrows shall post conspicuously at all times at his or her place of business a true copy of sections 4406 through 4408 of this chapter.

4410. - Firearms used in violation of chapter deemed nuisances; surrender and disposal.

Any firearm, arrow or other missile whose possession or use violates, including by attempt, any provision of this chapter shall upon conviction of the defendant be deemed a nuisance. Any such firearm shall be surrendered to the sheriff who shall dispose of the object in accordance with the provisions of Penal Code Section 12028.
