3300. - Adoption of animal control ordinance.

Title 10, Animals, of the Los Angeles County Code, as amended and in effect on May 2, 2006, is hereby adopted by reference as the animal control ordinance of the City of Agoura Hills.

A copy of Title 10, Animals, of the Los Angeles County Code, as amended and in effect on June 2, 2006, has been deposited in the office of the city clerk and shall at all times be maintained by the city clerk for use and examination by the public.

3301. - Cat license not required.

Notwithstanding the provisions of section 3300, the animal control ordinance is amended by deleting the requirement for cat licenses and tags set forth in Section 10.90.010VI.

3302. - Surcharge authorized.

The city council may add a surcharge, in an amount established by resolution, on any one or more of the fees imposed under the chapter to pay for the city's administrative costs in enforcing the provisions of this chapter.

3303. - Violation; penalty.

(a) Except as provided in subsection (b), any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of an infraction which is punishable by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100.00) for a first violation, a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars ($200.00) for a second violation within one (1) year and a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each additional violation of this chapter within one (1) year, unless another penalty is provided for in this chapter.

or any provisions of Division 2, except chapter 10.84, of the animal control ordinance is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
