Chapter 18.01 — LOS ANGELES COUNTY SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE

Los Angeles County Ordinance 4478, and any amendments thereto, as presently effective, is adopted by reference as the Subdivision Ordinance of the city. All references therein to "Board of Supervisors" shall be construed to mean the city council, all references to "Advisory Agency" or "Regional Planning Commission" shall be construed to mean the planning commission of the city, all references to "unincorporated territory of the County of Los Angeles" mean all incorporated territory within the city, and all references to departments or agencies of the county of Los Angeles shall mean the equivalent departments of the city, or such agencies as may be contracted with by the city. Any reference to Los Angeles County ordinances shall be construed to mean applicable equivalent ordinances or municipal code provisions of the city.

The purpose of this title is to regulate the division of lands within the city to insure that such divisions are in compliance with state law and with the zoning ordinance of the city and to further insure that development within the city is orderly, controlled, and beneficial to the health, safety, and general welfare of the city and its residents.
