CAUTION ter declared by the President under

section 401 of the Stafford Act, your net casu- alty loss from this qualified disaster doesn’t have to exceed 10% of your AGI to qualify for the deduction. However, this disaster must meet the following requirements:

• It must have been declared by the Presi- dent during the period between January 1, 2020, and February 10, 2025.

• It must have an incident period that began on or after December 28, 2019, and on or before December 12, 2024, and ended no later than January 11, 2025.

Also, the $100 limit per casualty is increased to $500. For more information, see the Instructions for Form 4684.
