1.08.010 - Official primary bench mark.¶
The official primary bench mark of the city, to be used in determining elevations for all purposes in proceedings and surveys of the city, is the upper surface of an aluminum tablet set in the concrete foundation at the northeasterly corner of the county jail building in the city and has the following characters stamped upon its surface: "B.B.-1907-3-2625," which tablet was heretofore determined by the United States Geological Survey to have an elevation above sea level of twenty-six hundred twenty-four and eight hundred eighty-six thousandths feet.

1.08.020 - Official base.¶
The official base of the city is an assumed level plane at a depth below the official primary bench mark described in Section 1.08.010, of twenty-six hundred twenty-four and eight hundred eighty-six thousandths feet.
In all surveys hereafter made by or under the direction and for the use of the city, all elevations shall be expressed in feet and decimal parts thereof above official base as above set forth.
