Sec. 6-1.101. Title.¶
This chapter shall be known as and may be cited and referred to as the “Animal Control Law of the County of Yolo”. (§ 2, Ord. 703, eff. May 22, 1974)
Sec. 6-1.102. Purpose.¶
The purpose of this chapter is to provide for the preservation of the health and safety of persons and domestic livestock in the County, to fix the limits within which animals shall not run at large, and to provide for the regulation and licensing of dogs and kennels. Sec. 6-1.103. Authority.¶
This chapter is enacted pursuant to authority conferred by the following enactments:
(a) Article 11, Section 7 of the California Constitution;
(b) Title 3, Division 2, Chapter 8 of the Government Code (commencing with Section 25800) of the State;
(c) Division 1, Part 2, Chapter 1, Article 1 of the Health and Safety Code (commencing with Section 450) of the State; and
(d) Division 14 of the Food and Agricultural Code (commencing with Section 30501) of the State. (§ 2, Ord. 703, eff. May 22, 1974)
Sec. 6-1.104. Territory.¶
The provisions of this chapter shall apply to the entire unincorporated territory of the County, and the provisions governing dogs shall apply to territory within any city which is located within the County which requests, by ordinance, the application of the provisions of this chapter within the confines of such city.
