8.12.010 - Firearms.¶
A. No person shall discharge or fire any firearm within the city, except in shooting galleries or on pistol or rifle ranges, the locations of which have been approved by the city council; provided, however, that this subdivision shall not apply to peace officers acting within the scope of their official duties, or to persons acting in the necessary defense of their persons or property. Violation of this section shall be a misdemeanor.
B. As used in this chapter, "firearm" means any device designed to expel through a barrel a projectile propelled by gas, spring, air, the force of any explosion or other form of combustion.
C. Upon conviction of the defendant, any firearm used in violation of this chapter shall be a nuisance, and shall be surrendered and forfeited to the chief of police and disposed of pursuant to Sections 12028 and 12030 of the Penal Code. For purposes of this chapter, "conviction" includes a finding of jurisdiction by the juvenile court, in the case of a minor, under Section 602 of the Welfare and Institutions Code.

8.12.020 - Fireworks.¶
A. No person shall fire, set off, or discharge, unless under written permit of the city council first had and obtained, any firecracker, rocket, bomb, torpedo, Roman candle, or any other kind of fireworks.
B. No person under eighteen years of age shall have in his immediate possession within the city any firecracker, rocket, bomb, torpedo, Roman candle, or any other kind of fireworks, except under the direct supervision and control of an adult.
C. Violation of this section constitutes an infraction. Upon conviction of the defendant, any fireworks used or possessed in violation of this chapter shall be a nuisance and shall be surrendered to the chief of police, who shall cause its destruction.
