5.16.010 - License—Required for designated amusements—Fees.

No person, firm, association, or corporation either as employee or owner shall conduct in the city any of the following games or exhibitions for remuneration or otherwise without first procuring a license therefor from the chief of police and paying the fees as established by resolution of the city council:

A. Merry-go-rounds;

B. Ferris wheel or similar device;

C. Any exhibition of any kind upon the streets or upon open or unoccupied lots;

D. Any exhibition upon open or unoccupied lots where goods are sold.

5.16.011 - Exhibition defined.

For the purpose of this chapter, "exhibition" means and includes any display, exhibit, show, game, other than a mechanical amusement as defined in Chapter 5.20 of this code, or event, offered or presented to the public for public inspection or viewing, with or without the payment of an admission charge, including, but not limited to, any arts, crafts, industrial products, handwork products, sporting events, dances, musical or theatrical performances, movies, car shows, games of change, fairs and circuses.

5.16.020 - License—Exempt amusements.

The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to poolrooms, moving picture theaters or exhibitions given by local talent.
