§ 5.04.050. License and tax payment required.¶
There is imposed upon each business in the city a business license tax in the amount hereinafter prescribed. A person transacting business in the city shall pay the business license tax and apply for and maintain a city business license in accordance with this chapter. It shall be unlawful for a person to transact business in the city without a city business license or without complying with this chapter.

§ 5.04.060. Compliance with zoning requirements.¶
No license shall be granted to a licensee for a specific location unless all zoning requirements imposed by state law or local ordinance are first complied with.

§ 5.04.070. Evidence of doing business.¶
When a person advertises, holds out, or represents that he or she is in business in the city, or when he or she holds an active license or permit issued by a governmental agency indicating that he or she is in business in the city, or when he or she fails to deny by a sworn statement given to the collector that he or she is not conducting a business in the city, after being requested to do so by the collector, then these facts are prima facie evidence that he or she is conducting a business in the city.

§ 5.04.080. Branch establishments.¶
A separate license must be obtained for each branch establishment or separate place of business in which a business is carried on and for each separate type of business in which a business is carried on and for each separate type of business at the same location. A warehouse and a distributing plant used in connection with a business licensed under this chapter is not a separate place of business or branch establishment within the meaning of this section.

§ 5.04.090. Two businesses at one location.¶
A person conducting two or more types of businesses at the same location, whether under the same or different management, shall obtain a separate business license and pay the license tax for each business at the location.
