1.16.010 - Definition.¶
As used in this chapter, "labor on the public works" includes clerical and menial labor in the city jail.

1.16.020 - Labor—Required.¶
All able-bodied persons confined in the city jail under a final judgment of imprisonment rendered in a criminal action or proceeding, and all able-bodied persons confined in the city jail as a condition of probation after suspension of imposition of a sentence or suspension of execution of sentence, shall be required to perform labor on the public works or ways in the city. Such persons shall not be required to engage in the prevention or suppression of forest, brush or grass fires.

1.16.030 - Labor—Supervision.¶
The labor required pursuant to Section 1.16.020 shall be performed under the supervision of the chief of police.
