Visalia Municipal Code Ch. 5.44 Self-Service Car Washes

It is the purpose and intent of this chapter to prohibit engine cleaning in self-service car washes. (Prior code § 9650)

This chapter shall be known as the "Engine Cleaning Ordinance of the City of Visalia." (Prior code § 9651)

The city manager, or his designee, is authorized and directed to implement the applicable provisions of this chapter. (Prior code § 9652)

The provisions of this chapter shall apply to all persons, customers, and property within the limits of the city. (Prior code § 9653)

Cleaning of internal combustion engines in a self-service car wash is prohibited. (Prior code § 9654)

Any person who intentionally cleans an internal combustion engine in a self-service car wash, shall be found to have engaged in criminal conduct punishable as an infraction, subject to penalties in accordance with Section 1.12.010. (Ord. 9605 § 17, 1996: prior code § 9655)

If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this chapter is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this chapter. (Prior code § 9656)
