4.105.010 Transfer of duties.¶
The duties of the council, assessor, tax collector, auditor and ex officio clerk, with respect to the assessment of property in the city for the municipal taxes thereof, to the equalization and correction of such assessment, to the collection, payment and enforcement of such taxes, hereafter becoming a lien, to the collection of assessments levied for municipal improvements, to the sale of property for nonpayment of such taxes levied for municipal purposes or for nonpayment of assessments levied for local improvements, and to the redemption of such property from the sale or other penalty for nonpayment of the municipal taxes of the city shall be performed by the officers of the county of Ventura, charged respectively with the performance of duties of the same character as the officers of the city whose duties are to be performed by such county officers. 4.105.020 Retention of duties.¶
All taxes of the city that shall have been levied prior to January 26, 1938, including delinquent taxes, shall be collected, the payment thereof enforced in the same manner and upon the same penalties and property sold for the nonpayment thereof and redeemed from such sale in the same manner and under the same conditions as provided by the laws in force in the city on January 26, 1938; and the officers of the city shall collect and enforce the payment of such taxes, including delinquent taxes, and do any and all things that may be necessary in the sale of property for the nonpayment of such taxes and in the redemption thereof from such sale. 4.105.030 Compensation.¶
The amount of compensation to be charged by and paid to the county of Ventura for the performance of services herein contemplated shall be fixed by agreement between the board of supervisors of said county and the council; provided, however, that such compensation shall in no event exceed one-half of one percent of all moneys collected for the city as herein provided. (Code 1971, § 1513)
