16.310.010 Definitions.¶
For the purposes of this chapter:
“Bicycle” means any device upon which a person may ride, which is propelled by human power through a system of belts, chains, or gears and having either two or three wheels in tandem or tricycle arrangement.
“Bicycle dealer” means any person, firm, partnership, or corporation which is engaged, wholly or partly, in the business of selling bicycles, or buying or taking in trade bicycles for the purpose of resale, selling or offering for sale, or otherwise dealing in bicycles, whether or not such bicycles are owned by such person or entity. The term also includes agents or employees of such person or entity.
“City” means the city of San Buenaventura.
“Designated agent” means any person, firm, business or corporation which (1) is authorized by the city to issue licenses pursuant to this title, and (2) has consented to being a licensing agent.
“Resident” means any person who has resided within the city of San Buenaventura for a period of six months.
“Unclaimed bicycle” means any bicycle in the possession of the police department which has not been claimed within a period of three months. (Code 1971, § 7611)
