Ventura Municipal Code § 2.510.010 Purpose

20 Editor’s note(s): Ord. No. 2003-003, § 3, adopted April 28, 2003, repealed the former Chapter 2.510 and enacted a new chapter as set out herein. The former Chapter 2.510, Sections 2.510.010 through 2.510.030, pertained to fidelity bond requirements and derived from Code 1971, Sections 1211 through 1213.

This division constitutes the administrative code of the city relating to the city’s employees. It is adopted pursuant to the provisions of Section 1000 of the City Charter that requires the council to adopt an administrative code by ordinance. It implements, in particular, Section 1000(d) of the Charter that requires the administrative code to provide policy statements of the council concerning personnel administration, salary and wage administration, hours of work, conditions of employment, employee benefits, centralized purchasing and other administrative procedures.
