2038 - Amendments to this ordinance.

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Ventura is hereby authorized to make any legally permissible amendment to this Ordinance without first obtaining approval by the voters of the County of Ventura, except that any increase in the amount of the business tax imposed under this Chapter which requires voter approval must first be approved by the voters of Ventura County in accordance with the governing provisions of law.

2039 - Severance clause.

If any section, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Ordinance, or any amendments thereto.

2040 - Effect on other laws.

Any person required by the provisions of this Chapter to pay a business tax for transacting and carrying on any business shall not be relieved from the payment of any other applicable tax or fee required by the provisions of this Code and shall remain subject to the regulatory provisions and other laws of the County.

2041 - Effect of chapter on past actions.

The adoption of this Chapter shall not be construed to affect the prosecution for a violation of any other law, which violation was committed prior to the effective date of this Chapter, nor shall it be construed as a waiver of any penal provision applicable to any such violation, nor shall it be construed to affect the validity of any bond or cash deposit required by any law to be posted, filed, or deposited, and all rights and obligations pertaining thereto shall be continued in full force and effect.
