7.72.010 - Prohibited.¶
No person shall deal, operate, attend, play, or bet at of against any game as the result of which game chance is any determining factor, which game is played, conducted, dealt, or carried on with cards, dice, dominoes, or other device, for money, chips, checks, credit, or any representative of value, at, in, upon or about private or public property, or in any house, room, apartment, or place, except as set forth in Section 7.72.080.

7.72.020 - Barring or impeding access of peace officers prohibited.¶
It is unlawful for any person to exhibit or expose to view in any barred or barricaded room or in any place built or protected in the manner to make it difficult of access or ingress to peace officers, any cards, dice, dominoes, or other devices, or any gambling implements whatsoever, or for any person to visit or resort to any such barred or barricaded house or room or other place, built or protected in the manner to make it difficult of access or ingress to peace officers, where any cards, dice, dominoes, or other devices, or any gambling implements whatever are exhibited or exposed to view.

7.72.030 - Maintaining gambling house prohibited.¶
No person shall keep, conduct, or maintain any house, room, apartment or place, used in whole or in part, as a gambling house or place where any game is played, conducted, dealt, or carried on with cards, dice, dominoes, or other device, for money, checks, chips, credit, or any representative of value, as a result of which game chance is any determining factor, except as set forth in Section 7.72.080. The word "cards" as used in this section is not intended to and shall not include games known as bridge or whist.

7.72.040 - Permitting property to be used for gambling prohibited.¶
No person shall knowingly permit any property, house, room, agent or place owned by him, or under his charge or control, to be used, in whole or in part, as a gambling house or place of playing, conducting, dealing, or carrying on any game, played with cards, dice, dominoes, or other device, for money, checks, chips, credit or any representative of value, as result of which game chance is any determining factor, except as set forth in Section 7.72.080.

7.72.050 - Visiting gambling location prohibited.¶
No person shall knowingly become a visitor at any place where illegal gambling is in progress.

7.72.060 - Soliciting visitation to gambling location prohibited.¶
It is unlawful for any person, through invitation or device, to solicit another person to visit any place for the purpose of illegal gambling.

7.72.070 - Gaming machines prohibited.¶
It is unlawful for any person to own, or to have in his possession, or under his custody or control, either as owner, lessee, agent, employee, mortgagee or otherwise, any slot machine, pinball machine, marble machine, or any similar device or contrivance, upon the result of the action of which, money, or other valuable thing is or may be staked or hazarded, and which is or may be operated or played by placing or depositing therein any coins, checks or slugs, or as a result of the operation of which any money, amusement, value, or representative of value is or may be won or lost, when the result of the action or operation of said slot machine, pinball machine, marble machine, or similar device or contrivance is dependent, in whole or in part, upon hazard or chance.

7.72.080 - Exceptions.¶
The following exceptions are made to the provisions of Sections 7.72.010, 7.72.030 and 7.72.040, respectively:
A. The provisions of Sections 7.72.010, 7.72.030 and 7.72.040, respectively, shall not apply to occasional private games, otherwise lawful, carried on for purely social purposes in a private house, room or apartment. Neither shall said provisions apply to otherwise lawful games, other than card games, conducted by a private group of customers within a restaurant or bar, duly licensed to transact business in the city of Vallejo, for the sole purpose of detaining which member of said group shall pay for food, refreshments, or beverages for the immediate consumption by said group.
B. A license may be issued in the reasonable discretion by the chief of police of the city of Vallejo to any incorporated or chartered fraternal, labor, benevolent, or charitable organization or to any religious association, which organization or association has been continuously carrying on within the city of Vallejo the activities for which it was organic for a period of not less than two years immediately preceding the making of application therefor. The license shall authorize such organization or association to conduct a game room or rooms wherein games not in conflict with any state law may be played or conducted, incidental to the other activities of such organization or association in conformity with the provisions of this subsection. No advertising or advertising signs whatever shall be permitted in connection with the operation. The licensee shall have a paid attendant in such room at all times when games are in progress, and it shall be his duty to report to the licensee any violation of the law. No such game room shall be open to the public, but shall be used only by the members of the respective organization or association licensed and their bona fide guests, and shall be conducted in the building principally used by the licensee.
C. Any bingo game conducted in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5.60 of this code.
