1.05.010 - Selection of Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore.¶
(a) The Town Council shall, at the first regular meeting in December of each year choose one of its member as Mayor and one of its member as Mayor Pro Tempore for a term of one year.
(b) The Mayor shall preside at meetings of the Town Council and shall be recognized as head of Town Government for all ceremonial purposes, but shall have no regular administrative duties. The Mayor Pro Tempore shall act as Mayor during the absence of the Mayor until the Mayor returns or is able act. The Mayor Pro Tempore shall have all of the powers and duties of the Mayor in the Mayor's absence.
(c) The Mayor may make or second a motion and present and discuss any matter as a member of the Town Council.
(d) The Mayor may sign all written contracts and conveyances made or entered into by the Town and all instruments requiring the Town's seal as the Council may direct.
