§ 10.20.060. Prohibition of certain vehicles on restricted streets.

Vehicles exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of six thousand pounds and ten thousand pounds are prohibited on the streets designated in Section 10.20.070 of this chapter.

§ 10.20.070. Designation of restricted streets.

When signs are erected giving notice thereof, the following streets or portions of streets are restricted to vehicles not exceeding a maximum gross weight of:

A. Six Thousand Pounds.

  1. Calle Medusa, from La Serena to Nicholas Road;

  2. Rainbow Canyon Road from Pala Road to the southern city limit.

B. Ten Thousand Pounds.

  1. Front street from Moreno Road to Second Street.

§ 10.20.080. Signs required.

Whenever this article or any ordinance of the city designates any street or portion thereof as a restricted street, the city engineer shall cause said street to be posted with signs providing substantially as follows: "Restricted Access—Vehicles Under Six Thousand Pounds Only."

§ 10.20.090. Exceptions.

The provisions of this article shall not apply to:

A. Commercial vehicles coming from an unrestricted street having ingress and egress by direct route to and from a restricted street when necessary for the purpose of making pickups or deliveries of goods, wares and merchandise from or to any building or structure located on the restricted street, or for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling or construction of any building or structure upon the restricted street for which a building permit has previously been obtained;

B. Passenger buses under the jurisdiction of the public utilities commission;

C. Any vehicle owned by a public utility necessary for the construction, installation, maintenance or repair of public utilities; or

D. Any vehicle owned and operated by a public agency.
