§ 17.02.010. Zoning districts established.

The following zoning districts listed in Table 17.02.010 are established in order to carry out the purpose of this development code and to implement the goals and policies of the general plan.

§ 17.02.020. Consistency with the general plan.

The following table illustrates the relationship between the adopted general plan land use designations and the zoning districts. For each general plan land use designation there is one or more zoning district that is intended to implement the intent of the general plan.

§ 17.02.030. Adoption of zoning map.

The zoning map of the city of Temecula, dated December 19, 1995, or as subsequently amended, and on file with the city clerk is herein adopted by reference and shall be an integral part of this development code.

§ 17.02.040. Uncertainty of boundaries.

Where uncertainty exists as to boundaries of any zone shown upon the zoning map, or any part thereof, the following provisions shall apply:

  • A. Where boundaries are indicated as following lot lines or the right-of-way lines of highways, streets or alleys, such lines shall be construed to be the boundaries. Where boundaries are indicted as following the boundaries of a street, the zoning boundary line shall extend to the centerline of the street, unless otherwise specified.

  • B. In the case of unsubdivided property where a zone boundary divides a lot, the location of such boundaries, unless the boundary is indicated by dimensions of legal description, shall be determined by use of the scale appearing on the zoning map.

  • C. Where a public highway, street or alley, or any portion thereof, is officially vacated or abandoned, the area comprising such vacated highway, street, or alley shall acquire the zone classification of the property to which it reverts.

  • D. Where boundaries are indicated as approximately following the centerline of watercourses, ridgelines or other geographic features, the boundary locations shall be determined by the director of public works/city engineer.

§ 17.02.050. Prohibited uses.

"Commercial marijuana activity" and "marijuana cultivation" (as defined in Chapter 8.52 ) for medical, nonmedical or other purposes, are prohibited uses everywhere in the city including all zoning districts, specific plan areas, overlay zones and planned development zones and shall be prohibited uses, except as otherwise provided in Sections 8.52.040 , 8.52.050 , and 8.52.060 .
