3.28.110 - Seasonal and temporary employees allowed-Hiring and compensation requirements.

A. There are hereby allowed to each officer necessary seasonal and temporary employees upon the conditions set forth in this chapter, to the extent that he has available funds appropriated for the purpose.

B. The compensation for such employees shall be the first step of the range applicable to the same position in the classified service, as set forth in Exhibit A of the memorandum of understanding, unless otherwise specified by resolution of the board or by this title.

C. Specific board approval is not required for hirings pursuant to this section.

3.28.120 - Hiring in cases of extreme emergency.

A. In cases of urgent necessity, to preserve life or to prevent great property loss to the county or its citizens, a department head may hire extra help prior to the time the board's approval is obtained therefor.

B. In such cases, board approval shall be obtained for such hiring at the first regular meeting of the board at which the fact of employment can be presented.

C. This section shall be applicable when there are no funds and is intended only for an extreme emergency.
